T R U S T (29)

 T R U S T

One of the most valuable things someone can give is their trust. It sheds a part of that protective skin that we all have that we try to always protect. One of the things that once we find it is broken by a person, it will never be given again.

Trust holds a part of someone that can be irreplaceable. Even if they think that it can be considered to be given out again, it will come with boundaries and with a short leash with little to no give. When someone has been hurt, it can be even harder to build that deeper trust that so many want or believe they deserve. Trust doesn’t have to be deep though. People are different and have different levels of trust that they are willing to give out as well.

Now, consider someone who has trust issues. Those people are rare to want to build and give out their trust again. And if you are one of those people, then consider yourself lucky to begin with. However, those issues can be a challenge for some and that makes trust seem like it's not held in the same way between two people in a relationship. That isn’t always the case, though, and it should never be used as a weapon against that person who has those trust issues.

Yes someone might have trust issues, but that does not mean they do not trust you. It is you that has to believe that. When they say they do trust you, but show care or communicate in a different way than you, that can be daunting to some people. But it does not mean someone does not trust you. It means they might feel vulnerable or worried, but those feelings come with relationships, or just life; they are not just from the trust issues given from the past.

When I give my trust out to someone, my trust issues might be relevant at times but not always. Trust can be the most vulnerable thing a person can give, and yes, I might have trouble with it, but I promise; once my trust is given, it is there for good…
